“Jordy,” a blond mix of Lab and American Pit Bull Terrier, was born in June 2008, the last of an “accidental” litter and destined to be sent to a fatal end at the pound until ASL stepped in to rescue him. From a plump handful at his arrival age of only 2 months, “Jordy” has grown into a very large-framed young adult, and we expect him to grow a bit more yet, probably topping out around 70-75#. He has successfully completed his basic puppy good manners and obedience course, and he listens well. He has enjoyed couch potato and lap puppy status, and he blends well into existing canine social structures. On the negative side, however, he does not do well with cats or livestock and is not comfortable around young children, even though he has a very sweet, submissive demeanor with adults. “Jordy” is neutered, UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, on heartworm preventive, and is both house- and crate-trained. |
