Kessel is an extremely intelligent 9yr old, black, neutered male American Shorthair. He is clicker trained and will respond to 'Sit', and 'Sit up'. He will jump up onto anything that you tap with your fingers and is great at hand targeting. He will touch a target stick but isn't great at following it yet. He is great at the 'Name Game' and comes when called. He has potential for possibly being an agility cat. He will fetch his toys until you're exhausted. :) Whenever he is happy, he will smile at you, showing his front teeth. He is great with other animals. He is currently in a home with five big dogs and he loves them. His owner's sister fostered kittens in the past, and Kessel was an excellent surrogate 'mom' for them. He loved to wash and play with them. He also gets along great with adult cats. He still has his claws and is GREAT at always using a scratching post. Kessel absolutely adores kids and has been around children of all ages. He is very patient with them, and will let them 'lug' him around. Kessel is very social and affectionate, he will occasionally sit on laps, and he loves to follow you around and be petted. He is also very vocal and will definitely try to carry on a conversation with you.
When Kessel was originally adopted we were told that he was a purebred American Shorthair. He doesn't have papers but he does look like one. Kessel is 12 lbs and not overweight. He is up to date on all of his shots including Feleuk, has tested neg. for FIV and Feleuk, is microchipped and is on flea, tick, and heartworm preventative. He has also had blood work done and everything was normal.
Kessel has been in the same home for 9yrs. Unfortunately, the boy who adopted him has gone off to college and is unable to take him along. His parents are moving and insist that Kessel is found a home ASAP or he will go to a shelter. We are posting Kessel as a courtesy to his owner. Please contact Tyler at 574-361-5240 or tv567809@arbor.edu if you can take Kessel into your home and heart. |
